Born in Taipei, Taiwan on October 6, 1976, Barbie Hsu graduated from the Drama Division of Huagang Art School. She is an actor, singer, presenter and writer of Taiwan, China. In 2001, Barbie Hsu starred in the TV series "Meteor Garden", she became popular with the "Shanshan" in the play, and was selected as the best actress award in the Taiwan TV Golden Bell Award.
