"Sun Tzu's Art of War" is the earliest extant military book in China and the earliest military work in the world. It was earlier than Clausewitz's "war theory" for about 2300 years and was hailed as "the military sacred code". There are about six thousand words, a total of thirteen. The author is Sun Wu, the general of Wu State, who was born in Qiqiu Le'an. "Sun Tzu's Art of War" is an important part of the ancient Chinese military cultural heritage, an important part of excellent traditional culture. Its content is profound and profound, its thoughts are exquisite and rich, and its logic is rigorous and rigorous. It is the concentrated expression of the essence of ancient military thought. "Sun Tzu's Art of War" was regarded as a military classic. It has been born for 2,500 years and has been studied in all ages. Li Shimin said that "there are no military martial arts." The military law is a strategy, and the strategy is not a small trick, but a grand strategy and great wisdom. Today, "Sun Tzu's Art of War" has gone to the world. It has also been translated into many languages and has an important position in the history of world military. The bamboo version of the "Sun Tzu's Art of War" in the Han Dynasty was unearthed in the Tomb of Yinqueshan Han in Linyi in 1972.

The academic community generally believes that "Sun Tzu's Art of War" was born in the late Spring and Autumn Period in China; it is also considered to be a book in the Warring States or the latter. The author of this book thinks that he is a relative of Sun Wu and a postman. For Sun Wu’s life, academics also have different opinions. They are generally recognized as the end of the Spring and Autumn Period, about the same time as Confucius. Before the birth of "The Art of War", it should undergo a long period of gestation. The factors it produces are multi-faceted. The following should be given: The frequent, fierce and diverse wars in China since ancient times, especially in the Spring and Autumn Period, are the source of the "Sun Tzu's Art of War"; the previous military theory The achievements, such as "military", "military politics", ancient "Sima Law", and the code, are the stepping stones of "Sun Tzu's Art of War" leaping to the peak of the military science; the social thoughts in the Spring and Autumn Period, especially about "Tao" and " The theory of "being", "yin and yang", "protecting the people" is the cultural factor formed by "Sun Tzu's Art of War"; the Qi culture of Chongwu Shangzhi is a fertile ground for cultivating the military theory of "Sun Tzu's Art of War". Sun Wu’s personal talents and efforts are the subjective factors of Sun Tzu’s Art of War. In addition, the way of thinking that has been formed in China during the pre-Qin period, such as unitary thinking, dialectical thinking, and elephant-like thinking, has played a guiding role in the construction of the theoretical system of Sun Tzu's Art of War. This is the main reason why the "Sun Tzu's Art of War" was born in China and not in foreign countries. It was born in the Spring and Autumn Period and not in other periods.

The first person who led the "Sun Tzu's Art of War" to Europe was the French Catholic Jesuit missionary Joseph J. Amio. When I mentioned this name, most of the official literati in Beijing during the Qing Emperor's reign of the Qing dynasty felt awkward, but he wanted to talk about his Chinese name, Qian Deming, who knew a lot. It turned out that the Jesuit, who was born in Toulon, France in 1718, was sent to China in 1750. In the second year, he was enlisted in the capital of the Qianlong emperor who was going to make several Western friends. He has been treated by the Qing Dynasty since then. This Qian Deming lived in the ancient capital of Beijing for 43 years. During this period, in addition to preaching, the main energy was spent on studying Chinese culture. He learned Manchu and Chinese, and introduced Chinese history, language, Confucianism, music, medicine and other aspects to France, which caused widespread concern in France and even in European culture. The most valuable translation work was commissioned by the Minister of the King Louis XV of France, M. Beldon, to translate six ancient Chinese military books. Qian Deming relied on his deep knowledge of the Chinese language, based on a manuscript of the Manchu seven books, and began the translation work against the Chinese literature. In 1772, Dido Press in Paris published this series of military books called "Chinese Military Art", the second of which was "Sun Tzu's Art of War."
